Technology Education and Workforce Readiness

As AI continues to shape every aspect of our modern lives, how can we ensure that all students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world? At EDSI, we are committed to producing rigorous evidence to inform policymaking around computer science education, AI training, and upskilling across the K-16 spectrum and labor force development. The central questions that drive this work include: what’s the impact of expanding computer science education in K-12 schools on student college and labor market outcomes? How to develop a robust teacher workforce that can provide high-quality teaching in AI and computational thinking? What is the impact of earning industrial certificates (e.g., Microsoft certifications, Google Career Certificates) on student labor market performance?

You can find a brief introduction of our work on the impact of Microsoft certifications here: https://osf.io/stzd9
